1. Research. Research. Research.
Find you the dream location where your wedding is gonna be by going online and reading travel magazines to get some ideas where some great locations are for weddings these days.

2. Plan Early
Once you’ve done your research, plan early. Book your wedding date as far out as possible even if it’s 12 months from the day. You need to let your guests know early on what type of celebration you’re having and when your date is so they can save the date and hopefully be there for you. Another bonus of planning ahead and booking early is that most resorts and locations offering destination weddings have incentives just for that. You can save money, get a great package with a block of rooms for you and your guests that’s going to be amazing savings for your destination wedding.

3. Know What You Want
Where you book your wedding, there will probably be a wedding coordinator on staff to help you every step of the way. But, remember that it is at a distance and you’re not sitting beside them. You need to have a clear idea of what you want your wedding to look like – everything from the menu, to your flowers, the location of your reception and ceremony – all these have to be considered before booking your location.

4. Decide the Destination
Some popular locations for Filipinos these days include Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, beautiful gorgeous beaches, a lot of which have all inclusive resorts with amazing packages. Once you’ve decide on where your wedding’s gonna be, prepare to put a deposit to secure your date and move forward with your planning details.

5. Check for Requirements
Another thing you need to look at are any requirements of the destination you’re planning to marry on – like licenses, or visas, etc.

6. At Home Celebration
Another component that many couples do at a destination wedding because chances are a lot of your family or friends won’t be traveling to celebrate with you, is having a second celebration back at home. If you are considering doing that, remember it takes about just as much time to plan that party and get that details in order. So, if you’re planning to do that, factor it in to your destination planning.
