1. Announce your engagement.
Before you log in to Facebook to update your relationship status or tweet your happy news, be certain everyone who should hear it from you personally has been called. Remember to keep this personal and think about who you’ve called and who’s been notified of the news before you post it online. Try to perfect your proposal story. Everyone will be asking how he popped the question.

After “congratulations” and “let me see your ring,” here’s the first thing people will ask: “When’s the wedding?” Get past the “big day” question by choosing a month, season or even just a year. People appreciate feeling like they’re in the loop, and they’ll also put the event into their mental datebooks. Plus, it’ll give you and your guy a little direction as you start planning.

TIP: Get a manicure. Your finger and its sparkly new adornment will be getting a lot of attention. If your ring is even a bit loose, get it resized ASAP—after all, you’ll be showing it to everyone and the last thing you want is to lose the thing an hour after you get it.

2. Create a Wedding Blog or Website.
Now that you’ve told everyone the good news, consider creating a wedding site or blog to keep everyone apprised of your nuptial news. Post photos, write your “how we met” story, have a guestbook—make it as personal and interactive as you want. This allows your family and friends to keep posted about your news.

3. Book Engagement Photos
Get glam and book an engagement photo session. Engagement portraits are something which a lot of couples think about. Should you do it or shouldn’t I do it? Here in Wedding Philippines, we absolutely endorse it.

4. Be prepared for an Engagement Party
You might want to keep a few weekends open in the next 3 months because there might be an engagement party in the works for you and typically, they are great surprise for the couple.

5. Enjoy Being Engaged!
Take time to relax—get a massage, sleep in when you can. This is a special once-in-a-lifetime event purely about you and your fiancee. You are allowed to enjoy it! It’s an exciting time because you’re on the verge of planning the ultimate party in your life.
